Prepositions of Movement: to and no preposition
- to používáme, jestliže chceme vyjádřit pohyb směrem k místu
They were driving to work together.
She′s going to the dentist′s office this morning.
- ON + TO = onto popisuje pohyb směrem k povrchu. Může být použito pouze slovíčko on a to se slovesy pohybu.
The frog jumped onto the lilypad.(from water)
Huan fell on(to) the floor.
- IN + TO = into pipisuje pohyb směrem dovnitř
The milk went into the glass.
- Toward a towards se také používají jako předložky pohybu. Nedejte se zmást dvojím spellingem. Jedná se o jedno slovo a je jen na Vás, jaké si vyberete a budete používat.
We′re moving toward the light.
This is a big step towards the project′s completion.
- Se slovy home, downtown, uptown, inside, outside, downstairs, upstairs, nepoužíváme žádné předložky.
My mother went upstairs.
Her grandfather went home.
